WELCOME

I'm so glad you're here.

I'm Lindsay Barrett. I have many roles but what I want in life more than anything is to eat great food with the people I love. I like to imagine myself aging gracefully into a quintessential Italian grandmother--i.e. exceptional cook, one who will not hesitate to give you a piece of her mind, and deeply loves her family.

I'm growing my tribe (three girls and counting) and make it a point to create something ~anything~ with my own two hands in the kitchen on a daily basis. My greatest joy is when the littles get involved. Some days it's extravagant, other days it's bare bones get-the-job-done. Nevertheless it's always practice, always an experience to build from, always a step on my journey to Nonna-hood.

I dedicate my spare time to mastering the art of running a home kitchen. I'd rather be knuckle deep in butter and flour, cutting a beautifully tender and flaky pastry dough, but there is so much more involved on the back end.

From keeping a well-stocked pantry--to maintaining a continuous flow of diverse dishes on the table--to building an effective arsenal of tools that produce consistently great results--to curating presentation pieces that enhance the dining experience--I have many secrets to share with you.

I am a person who craves inspiration, longs for human connection, and needs a therapeutic/creative outlet. I want this space to facilitate personal enlightenment and bless me with a loving community of loyal like-minded individuals (is that so much to ask?)...but at a minimum I have here a digital log of my tried and true recipes and methods.

So come along and get involved with the narrative--ask questions, make comments. I'm excited to get to know you.
